Adaptation

Tonight was the third of three classes. I tried to get a little more attendance from posting informal flyers around the library with reminder sticky notes attached to them. The tactic was successful in the sense that two people dropped in due to them. The third was already registered. One other contacted me about missing the class. He was also registered, but mentioned the notes that he saw. I’m following up to see if he is willing to attend another group or make an appointment. So far the marketing that I am using is either generating more attendance or other consults. So overall, postitive results. I;m tracking them to get a trend or map a network if I can.

The other thing I learned was that I need to make sure that I can be adaptable in my lessons. Today was tough because it appeared that I didn’t have the same level of learner in the room. I tried to keep the class moving along by giving some time to have them do exercises on their own. But I also divded the exercise up where we did part of them in class together. In the end I was able to cover everything I intended. I did run about 5 min over, but I asked permission first.

Overall, a good experience. I’ll look at the evaluation later. And I’m definitely keeping the data.
