Day in review May 19, 2015
I have been trying to plan my workweek so that I have time blocked through Wednesday. I find it difficult to plan much beyond that right now because I don’t have a good idea of how long tasks take. By Wednesday I have a better idea and can fill out the rest of the week.
I’m hoping that I can take this one step further this year. I have my goals laid out for this year and once the review is done, then they will be solid. At that point I can start blocking out my time in terms of what I need to get done in a given month. I’m also considering changing my tracking system to something simpler now that I have an idea of how I spend my time and have developed some habits. It served its purpose, but I think I have a better grasp to work from
So today’s work involved getting some research time in this morning. I let that slip all too frequently. I submitted the performance review. I had a little time to do some organization and I need to decide if I’m going to share the pharmacy folder with the new librarian (if we get one) or start a different one or allow subfolder access (probably). Since most of the office was out at conference, the rest of us went to a brief lunch, just to get together. I manned my chat hour (1 question), and rounded out the day going to my college to see if we could figure out a way to screen cast my tablet on their projection system. It didn’t work.
Tomorrow will be more of the same.
