Day in Review May 21, 2015
Today is the end of my week because my uncles funeral has been scheduled for tomorrow. As such, the timing isn’t great because I have to get the last of my teacing materials for next week, and the week starts with a holiday. I’ve done the distasteful thing and brought work home. I certainly do this more that I have (or could) in my previous job, but I have to be careful that it doesn’t become a habit. I can see how that happens now.
I feel good about the coming year. I have a lot of opportunity and a lot of work ahead. It will be good work too. Part of what I would like to do, is set aside some time to map out what I can. I’ll get that posted when I get it outlined.
In the interest in keeping the Bridget Jones portion of the entry, today I had a meeting with the course coordinator for the class I’m teaching next week, spent some time reformatting one of my libguide pages after the migration, had my email program converted to outlook (which reminds me that I have to email a follow up ticket about fixing a small functional problem), prepped handouts for instruction next week, attended a webinar about electronic lab notebooks, and attemped to help a colleague change the settings on the departmental laptop touchpad. There was some half idle chit-chat around work projects and other miscellanea, but nothing significant.
And so ends my week. Next week will be week 52 and officially the end of my first year here.
